Hi, I’m Ben.

Games Developer

Currently I’m in my final year of study as an undergraduate at the University of Staffordshire, specialising in Procedural Content Generation (PCG) and AI systems in Unreal Engine 5.

My dissertation will explore AI-driven settlement growth, where NPCs dynamically influence the development and expansion of settlements over time, with the working title “Living Worlds: Creating Dynamic Settlements with PCG”. Alongside this module, I am currently working on my other module project which is also focused on PCG, a world dungeon generation system.

Before university, I was a Software Development Apprentice for 2 years working at Unilever, gaining valuable work experience in large-scale systems, global team collaboration and agile workflows. Working in a large corporation taught me how to adapt and develop my skills quickly in a professional environment, skills which I now apply to my game projects.

I’m passionate about creating immersive, dynamic experiences as well as designing systems and frameworks that empower creative minds in design and development. I’m currently looking for a entry level or graduate opportunity in gameplay programming or design, systems design or PCG focused roles to continue expanding my technical abilities.
